The training

A real boxing gym.A short walk from the beach.

Boxing is Mexico's sport. You train every weekday morning at a local gym with a ring, heavy bags, and local coaches, in a private session for our group only.

Footwork, defense, combinations, pad rounds, and conditioning. Beginners learn the basics. Experienced boxers get pushed. Sparring is optional.

  • 90-minute sessions

One session a day: enough to improve, with time to recover.

  • A champion's gym

Week 2: a session at a world champion's gym in Cancun (being arranged).

  • Live fight nights

Local boxing cards run often in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. We go as a crew.

Questions

Is this retreat confirmed?

Not yet. The dates are set. We are confirming the hotel, the gym, and the prices now. Join the early-access list and you hear first, before anyone else can book.

Do I need boxing experience?

No. All levels welcome. The coaches work with beginners every day. Sparring is optional and only for people who want it.

Can I stay only one week?

Yes. Everyone starts on the same day. Stay one week (7 nights) or two weeks (14 nights). The first week has its own farewell dinner, so nobody misses the send-off.

Is Playa del Carmen safe?

The US State Department lists Mexico's Quintana Roo state at Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, the same level as many popular countries. We use private vans for every group trip, and your host lives in Mexico. Read the official advisory before you book.

What about the seaweed (sargassum)?

December is usually a low season for sargassum, but recent years were hard to predict. Every beach day has a non-beach back-up, like the cenotes or Tulum.

How do I get there?

Fly into Cancun (CUN). Many US cities fly there nonstop in about 2 to 4.5 hours. Our private van takes you to Playa del Carmen in about 1 hour. US citizens need a passport and no visa.
