What to pack for Muay Thai in Thailand
Updated October 19, 2026
The short answer
Pack light clothes, hand wraps, a mouthguard, flip-flops, and recovery basics. Bring your own 16 oz gloves if you have them. Buy Muay Thai shorts in Bangkok: they cost much less there. Shin guards are optional for beginners, and many gyms rent gear.
Training gear
- Gloves: 16 oz for training (bring yours, or buy in Bangkok).
